WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE?
The trade winds provide warm weather year-round on Andros Island. Winter lows average a comfortable 70 degrees Fahrenheit and summer highs are around 80 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, with a gentle dip at night of just 5 to 7 degrees. The rainy season is in May and June when there is the most rainfall. Squalls and thunderstorms normally pass through quite quickly.
HOW DO I GET THERE?
Congo Town International Airport is located just 10 minutes from Caerula Mar Club in South Andros. Makers Air and Staniel Air have regularly scheduled flights from Fort Lauderdale, FL to Congo Town International Airport. There are flights from Nassau to Congo Town International Airport operated by Western Air. Affordable charter flights are also available from Nassau with Blessings Aviation and Dove Wings. CAN I TAKE A FERRY FROM NASSAU?
There is no ferry service between Nassau and South Andros.
IS THE RESORT ALL-INCLUSIVE?
Caerula Mar Club is a made-to-measure vacation destination; however, we do not offer an ‘all-inclusive’ dining package. We offer à la carte dining and beverage options as well as bespoke dining experiences that are all available for a nominal fee. In addition to your accommodations, we offer a number of complimentary activities and use of watersports equipment including snorkel gear, paddle-boards, kayaks, bicycles, and Hobie Cat Waves. Additional charges will apply for day excursions such as scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, and yacht rentals. Ground transportation to and from the resort/Congo Town is included for your arrival and departure.
IS THIS AN ADULT ONLY RESORT OR CAN WE BRING OUR CHILDREN?
To ensure the most tranquil setting for our guests, Caerula Mar Club welcomes children over the age of 12 years old. The resort has been designed for couples, individuals and families seeking privacy in a tranquil location.
Caerula Mar does not offer child-care or supervision, lifeguards or recreational programs. Parents are asked to use discretion and judgment and remember that they are responsible for the safety and behavior of their children.
ARE THERE OTHER RESTAURANTS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF THE RESORT?
Dining options on South Andros are quite limited and all are casual. There are no restaurants within walking distance of Caerula Mar Club.
HOW DO I SELECT THE RIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS?
We have a variety of options for you to choose from including beachfront, ocean view, pool view or garden locations. The resort is comprised of one and two bedroom open plan Private Villas, and individual or adjoining Clubhouse Suites. Our Clubhouse Suites are predominantly equipped with King beds; however, a handful of rooms also accommodate two Queen beds. Our Private Villas have King beds in the main room and our two-bedroom villas also have either an additional two twin beds or a queen bed in the second bedroom. Please contact our Reservations Specialist so that we can assist you in choosing the accommodation that is right for you.
CAN I DINE ON THE BEACH OR IN A SPECIAL LOCATION?
Bespoke dining arrangements can be made throughout the Caerula Mar property. Whether you are dreaming of a romantic candlelit dinner by the beach or a grand celebration in our dining room, we would be happy to assist you. Advance planning may be required, and surcharges may apply. Please notify Guest Services in advance to plan your special evening.
WHAT ARE THE VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR FOREIGN VISITORS?
Foreigners wishing to travel to the Bahamas for vacation or for business may require a Visa for entry into the country. WHAT IS THE CURRENCY?
The Bahamian dollar is maintained at par to the US dollar. You will require US dollars in advance of your arrival to South Andros as there are no daily options for exchanging currency.
DO I NEED ELECTRICAL ADAPTERS?
Electrical outlets in The Bahamas are 60 cycles / 120 volts, which is compatible with all North American devices. British and European appliances will require a two-pin flat adapter and a 220-volt converter.
IS THERE CELL PHONE SERVICE ON THE ISLAND?
For those who want to use their mobile phones, BTC (Bahamas Telecom Company) has roaming agreements with 128 companies around the world. To access BTC’s GSM roaming system, simply turn on your phone and wait for it to connect to the network. WHAT IS THE TIME ZONE?
The Bahamas are in the Eastern Time Zone. Daylight Savings begins each year on the second Sunday in March at 2:00 am and ends on the first Sunday in November at 2:00 am.
ARE THERE ATM’S ON THE ISLAND?
Part of the beauty of South Andros is the serene tranquility of this virtually uninhabited island. Modern conveniences such as ATM’s are not present on the island and as such, Caerula Mar operates a cash-less resort. ATM’s are available throughout Nassau, including an RBC ATM available at the Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau. You may wish to have US dollars with you for excursions, gratuities, and while you are in transit.
CAN AN ADDITIONAL GUEST STAY WITH US IN OUR ROOM?
Clubhouse Suites are based on a two person occupancy for single king accommodations and three person occupancy for rooms with double queens. Additional guests are not permitted in Clubhouse Suites.
One-bedroom Private Villas are priced based on a two person occupancy; however, arrangements can be made for a roll-away bed and additional towels to accommodate an extra guest. There will be an additional cost of $100 per night. There is a maximum capacity of three guests in all one-bedroom villas. Inquire about availability of a roll-away with our Reservations Specialist when making your booking.
Two-bedroom Private Villas are priced based on a four person occupancy; however, arrangements can be may be made for a roll-away bed and additional towels to accommodate an extra guest. There will be an additional cost of $100 per night per person. There is a maximum capacity of five guests in all two-bedroom villas. Inquire about availability of a roll-away bed with our Reservations Specialist when making your booking.
ARE PETS ALLOWED?
Pets are not allowed in guest accommodations.
WHAT IS THERE TO DO ON SOUTH ANDROS?
South Andros is home to world-renowned Blue Holes, idyllic beaches and is known as the bone-fishing capital of the world! If you would like to learn to dive or are already a certified diver, the ocean is home to a rich and diversified marine life. The third-longest barrier reef in the world is located off the east coast of Andros providing an abundance of marine life ranging from clownfish, angelfish, barracuda, grouper, snapper, sponges, conch, coral, bonefish, stingrays, jellyfish, sharks and more. You may also see turtles, dolphins and whales.
CAN I GET MARRIED AT CAERULA MAR?
From intimate ceremonies on the beach with a small group of family and friends, to a grand ceremony in our elegant dining room, Caerula Mar offers a variety of elegant settings for your special day. IS THERE WIFI IN MY ROOM?
Access to WiFi is complimentary and located throughout the entire resort, although service can be slower than in North America and may occasionally be interrupted.
ARE THERE MEDICAL SERVICES ON SOUTH ANDROS?
Yes, there is a medical clinic on the island that is open from Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, except public holidays. The Miriam Green Community Clinic is located in Kemp’s Bay which is less than 30 minutes drive from the resort. You may contact the clinic at (242) 369-4849 for more information. Hospitals are located in Nassau which is a 20 minute flight away. There are a variety of different types of travel insurance available to ensure you get the coverage you need so that you can travel worry-free. Please visit RBC Insurance for more information.
IS THERE WHEELCHAIR ACCESS AT THE RESORT?
Transportation to and on the island may be challenging because there are stairs to board the plane and aircrafts do not have lifts. Upon arrival to the island, transportation and taxi service are not presently wheelchair accessible.
We strive to eventually offer full accessibility to this remote island location, however there are several limitations presented by external factors of the location including airlift, ground transportation, lift availability and limited medical services. We will continue to work with our contacts here to make improvements in the future.
IS THERE A SEASONAL CLOSURE?

We have a three night minimum. A longer stay may be required over the Christmas and New Year timeframe.
